At the core of Ihsaan (excellency) is love. It is love for our Lord that allows us to strive for the best and reach for a level of faith that all our actions are done with the presence that God sees us and we see Him.

Ihsan Spiritual Center

Ihsan Spiritual Center (ISC), a non-profit is a platform to share our passion for spirituality, health, art, tech and to help remember our greater purposes in life for our communities. Through our various projects related to health, spirituality, blackness, the arts, activism, and tech tools we hope to help in creating a holistic lifestyle with in our community centered around nurturing the self, finding meaning through education and devotion, and connecting to community.

  • Rahma

    FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Rahma is a community activist, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and a student and teacher of Quran and Islamic studies. She is interested in furthering the spiritual, health, and well-being of communities through her writing, teaching, and mentoring. As a Somali American raised in Ohio her mission is to create safe spaces and give voice to causes that reflect her black Muslim experience and celebrate diversity and inclusion.

    Rahma is passionate about teaching Islam and began volunteering in University and at MYNA youth camps. She has dedicated much time in studying Quranic Arabic and values the importance of teaching it to non-Arabic speakers. She currently teaches Reading the Signs, a Quran study circle at Wasat.

    FOUNDER & TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

    David is an American Muslim convert of 16 years raised in the Midwest. As a student of knowledge; teachers, mentors, and friends enriched his practice of Islam. Similarly David recognizes the positive impact of community building for the growth of individuals. His areas of interest are in providing care support to new Muslims, mentoring youth, and giving additional leadership to communities.

    As a software engineer with over 14 years of experience, he is interested in developing tools and software to further the cause of Muslim communities worldwide. He is passionate about creating and developing software that is beneficial and representative of the Muslim experience and is the founder of Grupp Consulting LLC (grupp.com).
